CNN discovers that some Tea Partiers are Democrats. In other news, scientists discover that fish need water to survive.

Here:

Some Americans who say they have been sympathetic to Democratic causes in the past — some even voted for Democratic candidates — are angry with President Obama and his party. They say they are now supporting the Tea Party — a movement that champions less government, lower taxes and the defeat of Democrats even though it’s not formally aligned with the Republican Party.

To be sure, the number of Democrats in the Tea Party movement is small. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll shows that while 96 percent of Tea Party activists identify themselves as either Republican or Independent, only 4 percent say they are Democrats.

Had to put in the obligatory “well, it’s just a small number of the group”, but for months outlets such as CNN was reporting that the Tea Party movement was mostly a right-wing phenomenon. Turns out that’s not the case. But you and I knew that months ago: when Fox News treated the movement with the legitimacy that it deserved, anchor Neil Cavuto and talk show hosts Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck discovered that a fair number of the Tea Party folks were Democrat. See what happens when you get the facts and report on them objectively as opposed to berating them as a bunch of ungrateful know nothings? Perhaps if CNN continues down this path of objectivity and fairness it will boost its cable ratings. I won’t hold my breath.
