Democrats’ message for Mid-term elections: We think the American people are stupid.

Okay, they didn’t say that, but they might as well have said it. A Democratic official leaked their party message to The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder and here are their main talking points:

1) We’ve gone from recession to recovery.
2) We’ve made more progress in the war on terror in the last eight months than was made in the preceding eight years.
3) We’ve strengthened our relationships with our allies around the world.
4) Two million people or more have jobs today who wouldn’t have without the bold action taken by this President and Democrats in Congress.
5) We have the first Latina and only the third woman ever on the Supreme Court.
6) We’re using science and fact in policy making instead of ideology and politics.
7) We have the most transparent Administration in modern history, with tough ethics standards, and we are wringing the influence of special interests out of the policy making process.

As the National Review Online said, #5 is irrelevant and is pure identity politics. I won’t be as kind as the NRO, though: #1 occurred whether Obama and the Dems gave us the stimulus or not and many economists say that it didn’t do anything.

#2 is a blatant attempt to steal all of the credit that Bush should be receiving for his stance on fighting terrorism (nice try to sit there and say they have had more successes, though, but Bush started the success with minimal help from the Dems).

#3 is a bald-faced lie. Israel is more alienated than ever. Britain has been snubbed multiple times. Honduras was almost bullied into accepting back its corrupt chavista. Ties with Japan and South Korea are strained. And Australia and Indonesia was snubbed so that Obama can force healthcare down our throats (more on that later).

#4 is also a damned lie. The unemployment rate is at 9.7% and let’s remember that the entire point of their stimulus plan was to keep unemployment at 8%. Economist Veronique De Rugy shows that long-term unemployment is even worse under with the stimulus plan than without.

#6 is also a lie: when Climategate came out, the administration did not stop its plans to continue with the maligned idea of cap-and-trade and after seeing evidence in many European nations that “green jobs” don’t work, they continue to support subsidies to “green” manufacturers. That’s ideology plain and simple.

#7 is another lie: the administration has stonewalled on information for the Ft. Hood terrorism incident, the New Black Panther case, and the President only stands in front of the press so that he can propagandize, but not to ask questions.

And the kicker message from the Dems:

“And, we’ve taken health care from crisis to reform. It was a tough fight largely because of the vitriol and misinformation coming from the other side. But, it was the right thing to do for this country…”

Well, the American people don’t agree with the Dems and the only source of “vitriol and misinformation” during this entire tyrannical scheme masquerading as “reform” was from the Dems who slurred opponents, cherrypicked data to suit their ends and used accounting tricks to get the results they wanted. And as time goes by, we are going to see more appalling things that happen as a result of this bill.

Finally, the Dems insult our intelligence by saying that Republicans are “becoming more and more extreme with each passing day.” The problem with the Dems is that they have been extremely extreme since January 20th, 2009 and the American people picked up on it real quick that they were had. And the American people don’t suffer fools – or liars – lightly.
